What's Happening At The Pub
Monday, April 14, 2008, 1:50pm EDT
We have been doing some 'spring cleaning' on the pub database. Not an easy thing to do but it must be done!!
We have now been open for over a year which means that lots of you now have an expired membership card. ALE requires a roster of the CURRENT members in the pub at all times. This means that if your card has expired your name will NOT be on the roster. If you want to renew your membership you can do so online at http://paddygibneypub.com/Forms/EMailForms/MbrshpApp.html. You can pay the $5.00 dues when you pick up your new card (which has a great new look) at the pub. Remember we MUST not issue your card until after that dumb 3-day waiting period.
We did a HUGE clean-up with the mailing list. The address book is created using info that you submit on your application. That info is not always easy to read/decipher!!! Therefore we have over 200 emails bounce each time we send out this newsletter. All those email addresses have now been removed from the mailing list. If you are reading this and did not receive a copy in your email box please send an email to paddy@paddygibneypub.com and you will be added to the list. We know that you do not want to miss this lovely newsletter!!!
Last week was the first for the new laid-back show on Tuesday night and for the Showcase of Talent on Wednesday night. Both nights went very well so don't miss out on those this week. Can you stump our 'little house band' by bringing in music that they cannot play? They managed to do most of them last week…………..can they again this week?? Guess you will have to come out and see for yourself. We also have drink specials on Tuesday & Wednesday nights - http://paddygibneypub.com/specials.html.
If you want to have your name removed from our mailing list just send an email and we will get it done. See you at the pub.

First of all, thanks to all of you for making our first year such a tremendous success. We have been looking at the stats after being in operation for a full year and will be changing a few things.
First of all we are changing our hours of operation. Effective immediately we will be open from 7pm-2am Tuesday-Saturday.
OK now boys and girls, get ready, get set, and get to the pub on Tuesday nights. We have a whole new concept for Tuesdays. Paddy & Bill will be 'rehearsing' songs that you seldom hear them do at other shows. That means lots of new stuff that you have never heard them do. You can also request that they learn your favorites for upcoming Tuesday night shows. Sounds like a plan to me!!!
It is time for some of you to renew your membership. That has just become a lot easier. You can either apply for new membership or renew an existing membership online. The URL is: http://paddygibneypub.com/Forms/EMailForms/MbrshpApp.html Just answer the questions, click send, and we will have your card ready the next time you are in the pub.............just remember we have that ridiculous 3-day waiting period. You pay the $5.00 dues and sign your application when you pick up your card. Simple, huh?
Military Appreciation Day is now Military Appreciation Night on Tuesday nights of each week.
There is more in the works but we will get that info out to you at a later date.

Hi Boys & Girls, Can you believe it? We are already a year old. We now have over one thousand members and keep growing. Thanks to all of you.
We have a great weekend coming up. St Patrick's Day festivities will begin on Saturday, March 15th. The pub will be open from 4pm until 2am. Celtic Museum, the Irish group that played for us last year on St Pat's Day, will be with us again this year. They will be on stage from around 6pm until 8pm or so. Then at 11pm that infamous duo, Paddy & Bill, will be sharing the stage with DL Token until 2am. Regular cover ($3 for members; $5 for guests) from 9pm-2am. No one under 21 will be allowed in the pub after 9pm.
We will be closed on Sunday and will open on Monday, March 17th at noon. We are having a pig picking w/all the trimmings (barbecued potatoes, baked beans, cole slaw, hushpuppies) around 5pm. The food is free but the regular cover ($3 for members; $5 for guests) will be charged from 6pm-2am. Paddy & Bill will be doing two shows......7-9pm and again from 11pm-2am No one under 21 will be allowed in the pub after 9pm.
Guess that is about it for St Patrick's Day festivities. All the info is on the site........http://paddygibneypub.com/events/StPat2008.html
On June 6th Lee Tyler Post will be returning to the pub. He is bringing along a friend from England, Tim Prince, who will open for him. After Lee's show Paddy & Bill will be on stage until 2am. We will let you know when all the times, etc have been firmed up. Lee Tyler Post is an awesome musician and it seems that his friend is too. Please mark your calendars because this promises to be an evening you will not soon forget. More info about Lee.........http://paddygibneypub.com/OnStage/LeeTylerPost.html About Tim.........http://paddygibneypub.com/OnStage/TimPrince.html

Hello boys & girls,
It's late Friday afternoon so maybe this email will get to you just at the right time for you to plan your weekend. We are having a great weekend at the pub so hopefully we will be seeing most of you either tonight or Saturday night.
Effective tonight Justin Morehead will be opening for Paddy & Bill at 9:30pm. Paddy & Bill will go on stage at their normal time.....around 11 or so. Justin will also be appearing on stage .. Saturdays. He is on the calendar for Saturday October 20th and October 27th. Check the calendar - http://paddygibneypub.com/calendar.html - for the latest on that.
Tomorrow, Saturday October 13th, we will be having Lee Tyler Post from San Diego, California on stage at 8pm. This is the only stop Lee will be making in the Fayetteville area so try not to miss that!! There is more info about Lee along with links to his websites and MP3s on the site - http://paddygibneypub.com/OnStage/LeeTylerPost.html DL Token will be on stage immediately after Lee. That combination makes for a great night of live music.
There is more info on all the performers at the pub here - http://paddygibney.com/Shenanigans/BrazNRabbit/2006/20061028slideshow.html
Paddy's birthday is coming up - October 25th. He will be 27 again!!!!!! We do not have anything special planned but we will have the wings and "Paddy's Secret Sauce" and maybe a balloon or two, or three, or maybe 27!!!! Can't get enough for his REAL age because the pub would probably become airborne!!!!!
Halloween is just around the corner. It is on a Thursday night so we will be having "Spicy Bat Wings" and maybe "Mummy Sauce" or something like that. Better wear your costume. The camera will be there to record all the antics so beware!!!! Photos from Paddy & Bill's Halloween 2006 show at the Braz'n Rabbit are here - http://paddygibney.com/Shenanigans/BrazNRabbit/2006/20061028slideshow.html
If you have been in the pub recently your photo is probably somewhere on one of the sites. This Week At The Pub Slideshows - http://paddygibney.com/whatsnew.html - have lots of the photos and there are links on each week's slideshow to other locations, at least the recent ones. You can keep up with the changes on all the sites here - http://paddygibney.com/whatsnew.html
Guess that is about it for now. If you do not want to receive these emails just send a message to paddysirishpublichouse@paddygibneypub.com with remove in the subject line and we will try to get you off our list.

More changes!!! We have tried various foods for our Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday night crowds. It seems that what the majority wants most of all is - WINGS!!!! So effective this Tuesday we will be having wings all three nights.
The wings will be varied - tequila-lime, honey-smoked BBQ, Buffalo Hot Wings, etc. We are in the process of developing a 'special/secret sauce' for the wings. We are trying for something smooth and creamy that is good for you to eat, has a little bite to it, just the right tang to make you keep coming back for more, and will also be good for your skin. The final result will be based on your responses and will hopefully be all of those things we are looking for. So, with that said, please give us your feedback. Our slogan: Wings with Paddy's Special Sauce - Good for you to eat and good for your skin. Has a nice ring to it, don't you think?
Wednesday nights with the Cape Fear Songwriters' Guild is rapidly becoming the best night at the pub. We had quite a few new musicians last week and if things keep going as they have lately we will have more new performers this week. Check out the Guild website for photos etc - http://capefearsongwritersguild.com
The lineup for the pub this week is not much different from last week. Of course Paddy & Bill will be on stage Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday night. The Cape Fear Songwriters' Guild (with live music) will be on Wednesday night and David Brown will be entertaining you on Saturday night. Check the calendar for the latest info - http://paddygibneypub.com/calendar.html
Do we have a photo of you? If you were in the pub we probably have it on one of the websites. http://paddygibney.com OR http://paddygibneypub.com Check it out!!!!!!
Thanks to all of you for your continued support. See you at the pub.

What's Happening At The Pub
Monday, July 30, 2007, 7:00pm EDT
This past week was a more or less normal week with the exception of the Cape Fear Songwriters’ Guild on Wednesday night.
This past Wednesday was the third meeting of the Guild and attendance was definitely up quite a bit. Jeremy was out-of-town so Paddy was the host for the evening. Well, we all know that means we did NOT start at 8pm. Lucky break for all of us!! The musicians gathered around tables in the center of the pub and started playing - like a seisun. It reminded me of chamber music way back when. That is exactly what Paddy envisions for the pub. Wouldn’t it be great to have that every ‘Sunday At The Pub’ after reopening on Sundays in the fall?? Don’t miss out on the wonderful experiences with the Guild every Wednesday night at 8pm.
This is what we have in store for you this week.

We've made quite a few changes in the pub routine. Martini Night changed to Cocktail Time on Tuesday and is now Wing Night on Tuesday. Seems that most of you really like wings so we aim to please!
The Cape Fear Songwriters' Guild has met for the past two weeks on Wednesday night. This is turning into a great night at the pub. I think it will continue growing for quite a bit. That is good for you because it means live music every Wednesday night beginning with Jeremy Strothers of DL Token fame at 8pm. Last week he was joined by Kenny Huffman, an outstanding musician, and Leigha with two young guitarists. Come out on Wednesday; I think you will be very glad you did.
Thursday through Saturday remains much the same. This is what we have in store for you this week.

What's Happening At The Pub
Tuesday, July 10, 2007, 11:09am EDT
Bill & I will be on stage at the pub on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday nights. We will be at Tir Na Nog in Raleigh on Saturday so Ethan Hanson will be performing at the pub. All the info about entry fees and cover charges is on the front page of the site - http://paddygibneypub.com/
Today is Cocktail Time at the pub. Hope most of you can make it out. This is the lineup for tonight:
Complimentary Food - 6pm until it's gone
Italian Cheese Ball
Pepperoni/Mozzarella Bites
Artichoke Spread
Tomato Bruschetta
Black Olive Tapenade
Bagel Crisps
Toppers (Crackers)
Veggies
Green Onion Dip
Tomorrow, Wednesday July 11th, is the first night of the resurrection of the Cape Fear Songwriters' Guild - http://capefearsongwritersguild.com/ Paddy's is the sponsor and Jeremy Strothers of DL Token fame will be hosting. Jeremy will take the stage at 8pm for a couple of numbers; thereafter our local musicians/Guild members will entertain you with their original music. The pub is much too small to accommodate a full band so it will be acoustic only. We will have complimentary food from 7pm (until it's gone) - what we will be having depends on what's at the market!! Please come down and support the Guild.
Thursday is Appreciation Day/Night with complimentary food at 7pm - again it depends on the market as to what we have. It will be posted on the calendar - http://paddygibneypub.com/calendar.html - as soon as we know what it will be!!
That's about it. See you at the pub.

What's Happening At The Pub
Thursday, June 28, 2007, 7:36pm EDT
It's hard to believe that the pub has been in existence now for four months. In some ways, though, it seems much longer!! There will be quite a few changes in the next week or so. Change is good; it makes life more interesting.
This is the last Thursday for "Martini Time". We will now be having "Cocktail Time" every Tuesday from opening to closing. There will be complimentary food on that night just as we have had for "Martini Time". Of course Paddy & Bill will still be on stage around 10pm or so.
Jennifer Licko will be on stage Wednesday, July 4th. This will be her second show at the pub. Jennifer is an outstanding performer from Swansboro, North Carolina. We will be having complimentary food that night too.
Wednesday, July 11th is the first night of a very exciting feature – The Cape Fear Songwriters' Guild. That means we will be having 'live music' every Wednesday night from now on. Jeremy Strothers, of DL Token fame, will be on stage at 8pm followed by other musicians in the area who will be doing their original music. Of course it will be acoustic since Paddy's is not large enough to support a full band. Stay tuned for more info about the Guild.
"Appreciation Night" will be on Thursdays after this week. We will have complimentary food around 7pm until it's gone. This is our way of saying thanks for supporting us all this time. Of course Paddy & Bill will be on stage around 11pm as always.
The only thing on the calendar for Friday night is Paddy & Bill around 11pm. That could change soon so keep checking the calendar – http://paddygibneypub.com/calendar.html
There is live music on Saturdays with either Paddy & Bill, Ethan Hanson, or Danny Nieves. Check the calendar for the particulars.
That's about it. See you at the pub!!

Hi boys & girls,
This is LauraH. Paddy's computer is in the hospital so I am sending out an email for him.
Wednesday night is "Appreciation Night" at the pub. That means – FREE FOOD at 7PM with a sort of Mexican flavor this week. The star attraction in the food department will be meatballs with chile con queso. There will be some Mexican/TexMex dips to go along with assorted chips and veggies and the usual relish thingy. Check out the full menu here - http://paddygibneypub.com/Events/AppreciationNight.html
Paddy was expecting to have his new dart boards by tomorrow night but that is not to be. I don't know what he has up his sleeve so we will just have to wait and see. Should be interesting!!
Thursday night is Martini Time with complimentary food. You can read all about it on the website – http://paddygibneypub.com/Events/MartiniNight.html
Check the calendar - http://paddygibneypub.com/GoogleCalendar.html - for all the latest and greatest with the pub.
That's it for this time. Hope Paddy's computer is back home soon; bet you do too!!!

What's Happening At The Pub
Friday, June 8, 2007, 4:35pm EDT
Hi boys & girls,
This is the very first pub email using the newly created address book. All the members are now on the list - at least all that furnished an email address when they submitted their application for membership. This email is sort of a test to see how it works out.
The pub has now been open for business for three months. Thanks to all of you for your support. I could not have done it without you. Coming up on Wednesday, June 13 we are having the kickoff of Appreciation Night so be sure to drop in around 7pm for some good (FREE) food (the chocolate fountain returns!!) followed by a show at 8pm. The plans are to have Appreciation Night each Wednesday with FREE food and different type of events each week. We are definitely still in the planning stages for this.
Jennifer Shelton Licko will be on stage at 8pm on Wednesday, June 13. After years of studying and living in both Scotland & Ireland, Jennifer has a Celtic style and passion in her voice that is purely natural even when she sings in Gaelic. We are using one of her MP3s, Canan Nan Gaidheal, as background music for the pub website home page - paddygibneypub.com. Read all about Jennifer on her website - http://www.jenniferlicko.com/ - and/or her MySpace page - http://www.myspace.com/jennifersheltonlicko
Bill and I are now playing in the pub every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. We will also be doing one Saturday (to include this coming Saturday, June 9) each month for a bit now. Check the calendar - http://paddygibneypub.com/GoogleCalendar.html - and the On Stage page - http://paddygibneypub.com/OnStage.html - for all the events scheduled.
Again, thanks for all your support. Please come out on Wednesday for Appreciation Night and the Jennifer Shelton Licko show.
